Yes my phone is also a TA-1053. I have flashed it back to 7.1.1 using OST before when an OTA update resulted in my phone getting stuck in recovery. Flashing back to 7.1.1 puts my phone back on the June 2017 security patch but I cannot update from there without installing OTA zip files.
